Earlier this summer, I was commissioned to create some creative photography for Champagne Bollinger's integrated campaign. The images were to promote their James Bond 007 Autumn/Winter promotion. The brief specified a spotlight feel to align with the ‘James Bond 007’ brand.
Bollinger Special Cuvée NV Champagne Photoshoot for integrated campaign

To achieve this, a multi-composite lighting technique was required. Each of seven separate exposures was shot, with reflectors moved in and out of shot before being combined in Photoshop. The shoot wasn’t straightforward. The bottle needed different types of lighting to capture the right reflections, while the box required a different approach due to its gold foil printed on the surface and glossy black background. Reflectors were strategically placed in shot for some exposures and then removed one by one to create a clean image with the background to work on.

To get the spotlight effect I used a projector light, theses lights are great for projecting various lighting patterns including round spotlight effects, the effect can be focused sharp like in this image or softened for a more subtle effect. The light was a Broncolor Picolite with a projector attachment.

"To elevate the creative direction, we brought in renowned photographer Darrin Jenkins to shoot the hero imagery. Darrin translated our mood board concepts into bold, elegant visuals that highlighted the unique contours and metallic finish of the 007 Special Cuvée bottle. Every shot was considered – from the lighting that mimicked a cinematic spotlight, to the composition that suggested suspense, refinement and celebration in equal measure.
Working with Darrin allowed us to achieve the perfect balance of elegance and drama. The resulting assets were striking, versatile and perfectly on-brand for both Bollinger and Bond."
